Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania

Hi. I am a legal F1 student in USA. My sister is US citizen and She filed a brother-sister petition for me in march 2016. Is there any different category for those who are in USA? or does it take less time to open my file compare to those who are not in USA?

There is only one category for a sibling petition & the backlog is great. That means, you're going to need to maintain legal, non-immigrant status for a very long time or you'll have to return home. I'd recommend looking into being petitioned for a greencard by an employer or marriage to a U.S. citizen. Once you graduate, you can get OPT & look into finding a company to petition you for an H-1B visa.

Good luck!
