Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania

Work sponsored green card

I am being sponsored by my company for my green card. My priority date is June 2002. I have received advance parole and my EAP card. I have also had my biometrics taken. Do I have to remain working for the company until I physically get the green card or am I able to leave now. I have worked for them since they hired me in the UK in September 2000.

Re: Work sponsored green card

I would think it is in your best interest to remain employed by them because they control your green card application. Do you have an employment contract with the company?

Re: Work sponsored green card

The short answer is yes, because if you do not continue working for this company, they can withdraw their sponsorship. I woul also advise checking your arrangement with your company, as many require sponsored employees to sign a contract requiring them to remain with the company for a certain period after receipt of the green card.
