Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Salaried Maximum Hours per week

I am a salaried manager for a major drug store chain. We were bought by another chain. I worked a 45 hour work week. The new company now said that all managers must now work a 50 hour work week. We are not to receive any more money. Our old company was sued for working us a 50 hour work week. They then went to a 45 hour. Now we are back to 50. Can I assume they can do this with no compensation ?

Re: Salaried Maximum Hours per week

Without more facts, it's difficult to say, but we do exactly that kind of litigation, and I know what the former chain was sued for. It was sued under the FLSA for failure to pay overtime. You and your fellow managers may be entitled to overtime and back pay. We handle these cases on a class/collective action, or individually, and they are contingent fee cases. That means you don't pay any money unless you recover. Give our offices a call as soon as possible because the clock ticks quickly on these cases.
