Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Wrongful Termination / Discrimination ?

Is it right for your employer to terminated you after you been injured on the job. During my injury I was put on light duty up until the day the Dr.released me to go back to my regular job and the next day I was terminated.

I asked my Supervisor if I can have a written statement on why I was being terminated . He told me to go and sign up for unemployment. The next day I received that statement along with copy of my first evaluation report, which I noticed he had altered. Is it right for your employer to alter ratings after they been discussed and signed. He should have gave me a new evalution instead of crossing off and making changing to the 1st one. I have the original copy to prove that. He did that so he can write me that termination letter which indicates false information on my termination.

I was on a 90 day probationary period at that time. I didn't have any rights to file a complaint through the union until after my 90 days. But I noticed they have taken union dues out of my last pay check, which I feel that I should be able to file a complaint. I demonstrated while I was on light duty what cable hard worker I was and very freindly and helpful to other workers and supervisor.

If you paid union dues you may have rights to file a grievance and be taken back. Contact the shop steward at the location. Show him the paycheck that the union dues were taken from.
