Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

I am a Landlord who has not been paid rent by my tenants since 10/01/15. I served them a notice to quit and took them to the local district court. The judge ruled in my favor and entered a judgement against them. PA law says they had ten days to appeal the courts decision to the higher prothonotary court . I found out that they appealed the decision on the last day within that period. They served notice to the lower district court that they appealed so the sherif could not proceed with the eviction, but they did not serve me any official notice. I called the prothonotary court, and they said the tenants had ten days to submit proof that they had served me notice of their appeal and that they had not received it. They would not say how i should or could proceed.

My question is: what is the next step? I have not been officially served notice within the ten day time period that the tenants were given. Does the court throw out the appeal? Do i have to file anything?

Thanks in advance for your help

Get a lawyer. Understanding the rules of civil procedure is hard. By the way they have to make the rent payment to the prothonotary or they stay goes away.
