Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

can landlord sue for these things?

I have been out of my apartment for over a year now. The landlord harrassed me and stole from me the whole time I lived there. Criminal charges were brought against them and now all of a sudden they sue me in landlord/tenant court. They claim I owe late rent fee every day since the month I left last year(I gave proper notice of leaving) and is also claiming that I owe them for things that the previous tenant put in the apartment. Is this legal?

Retain an Attorney before your landlord wins an award and a subsequent judgment against you...you might even have a counter claim against this individual, but if you don't act immediately you will lose.

Well he can sue you. However, based on the facts given hew won't prevail. As a matter of fact you can counterclaim all the things he did to you.

If you have a notice to defend. It starts off YOU HAVE BEEN SUED. . . you need to find a lawyer pronto. You need to protect your rights with a timely answer or he'll be able to prevail by default.
