Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

Injured in a convenience store parking lot

My husband was recently injured in a convenience store parking lot. He was getting out of his van, and there was a hole, a pothole, right where he put down his foot, and he turned his ankle and fell down. I took him to the emergency room, and they diagnosed him with a bad sprain or torn ligaments, we have to go see the orhtepedic doctor this week. Can you tell me how much the store has to cover? And here's the part i don't understand: he is self-employed, so as of today, he has a customer that is four days late having their work done, because of this fall, and now, all of this weeks work will also be pushed back, until hopefully he can work. (he installs flooring). I hope that he doesn't lose any work because of this. Oh, and by the way, between the time i picked him up to go to the hospital and got back to his van, (about two hours) the hole was patched. (the girl inside said ''oh, that was supposed to be fixed last week''). I took pictures of the freshly patched hole and his ugly bruised foot and ankle. Now what? What do they HAVE to compensate you for?

Re: Injured in a convenience store parking lot

I'm sorry your husband was injured. Unless your husband makes a very quick and full recovery, so that he will only have a small claim, you should not try to handle this on your own. You should contact an experienced personal injury lawyer. I am in the Philadelphia area. By your zip code I think you are in another part of the state. If you need help, email me to let me know where you live so I can refer you to a lawyer in your area.
