Legal Question in Product Liability in Pennsylvania

Bleach damage due to leaking container

I recently bought a bottle of bleach at a local grocery store. The bottle leaked in the back of my well kept, fairly new car. the bleach permently bleached stained very noticible stains on the almost spottless carpeting it also ruined my sons fleece pullover and the pants that I wore that day. Do I have any recourse, as I spoke with the manager and he does not think they are liable?

Re: Bleach damage due to leaking container

You asked about bleach damage from a damaged bottle.

Well, the store manager is sort of right. The store may not be ultimately liable for the damages but the store is liable to the consumer. The manufacturer might be liable to the store. This is a great case for small claims.

Roger
