Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

After Closing

We sold a 10 acre lot. At closing all fee were paid. 1 month later they (attorney & buyer) say we own old taxes.

Do I have to pay? And can I sue attorney for it and for sending me a 1099 dated for the wrong year and not forwarding a corrected one to me or the IRS, causing my taxes to be wrong after I filed them?

Re: After Closing

It is impossible to advise you without reviewing the closing documentation. In Pennsylvania taxes are supposed to allocated at time of settlement. If this was not done the attorneys made a mistake. However, without review all the documentation it is impossible to advise you. Suggest you have another attorney review this matter. Gerald Hershenson Esq. 215-579-9390
