Can a finance company put a lien on your property if they reposess your car?

Yes, IF certain steps are taken. First, the finance company must obtain a deficiency judgment against you. Once that occurs, a writ of execution must then be filed against you which directs the county sheriff to levy your real or personal property. A deficiency judgment could also act as a lien on your real property as well. Hope this answers your question.
