Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Legal recourse against condo association

I purchased my condo unit 5 years ago, at which time there were no restrictions regarding pet ownership and I was able to have my 12 year old German Shepherd with me. She has since passed away and I'd like to get a new dog- a Labrador Retriever, but the condo association has recently imposed a weight limit of 30lbs.on dogs. Given that I purchased the property in good faith under one set of rules and regulations, am I now bound to the new set ? Is there any legal recourse for me against the Condo association ?

Re: Legal recourse against condo association

I would have to read the condo regulation. However, My guess is that it grandfathered your original dog and any new dog must comply with the 30 pound rule. If the regulation sates as I suspect, you have no recourse.
