Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Co owners of a property

A house was purchased by my son and daugher in law before they were married. The house is in the state of Pennsylvania, Montgomery County. They were married and she has since vacated the property in December. She has not paid her share of the mortgage or condo dues since she left. The mortgage is in both of their names. What is her responsibility for the property. Can my son go after her to pay her share? They are also in the process of divorce.

Re: Co owners of a property

As your son is in the process of getting a divorce the house should be dealt with as part of the equitable distribution of the divorce.

Assuming he has an attorney for the divorce that attorney should handle the issue. If he doesn't have an attorney for the divorce he better get one.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
