Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

We are purchasing a property (house built in 1935) that has a detached 1BR 1bath dwelling. This second dwelling has been described as a guest house, in-law, and caretaker's house. How do we find out for what uses we can legally use this guest house? Is it determined by current zoning alone is the original use of the building grandfathered?

Why not ask your lawyer? What you're about to enter in to the largest most legally complex transaction without a lawyer? I bet the bank has a lawyer. This is something they do all the time. You do this once maybe twice and you're going it alone?

Not very smart.
