settlement
just had settlement and do not understand this, in my state i thought buyer and seller each paid 1% of transfer tax. also i got stuck with 1/2 of closing costs and that was not in my contract. i am very confused

The matter is too complicated and must be reviewed by an attorney. The agreement of sale must be reviewed. In Pennsylvania the common practice is to share equally the payment of the transfer tax. That can be altered in the agreement of sale.
