Transfer deed without a will

I had an aunt die two years ago. No will, my sister and I took care of her. Her home is up for sherrifs sale due to back taxes. I would like to pay the taxes and get house in my name. How do I do that?

Re: Transfer deed without a will

The only way to own the property is to purchase the property at the tax sale. But there may be other bidders. I strongly recommend that you consult legal counsel as there may be other ways to do it. One way is to pay the taxes and probate your Aunt's estate. If you are an heir of the estate you can inherit the property. You really require legal assistance.
