Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

Mother passed away 4 months ago. She left behind a intellectually handicapped son (age 52). She cared for him all his life, mostly from a financial aspect. The Will states ," he can live in the home the remainder of his life" nothing else, no mention of being disabled , no trust ect.. Estate is in probate, should the court be notified of this situation so a guardian can be appointed to look after his finances?

I am sorry for your loss. If the son is mentally incompetent and unable to handle his financial affairs, then a guardian should be appointed by the court.
