Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

I am skeptical of my sister's intentions

My mother died on Nov 8,2004. My sister is executor of the will so I have trusted her. There would be only about 80,000 left in inheritance if the house sells which it just did,2 weeks ago for the asking price. I understand minus, taxes, her executor fees, oustanding balances etc the money will be distributed evenly to the four girls as expressed in my mother's will. I have not seen the will, my sister only tells me what to expect. She started telling me she was going to give money to people not in the will and bashing me for not doing enough so I may not get all of the share owed to me. She is charging me for cleaning out my mom's house and other miscellaneous expenses. I have no idea what to expect. I have not received anything in writing by her or the accountant. Is she not supposed to put all of this in writing? I dont understand.. I expected to receive an official letter stating everything. Also, she now tells me that I wont be able to get any money for 6 months to a year because it ias to go through the county for approval?? My Mom's estate has to be approved? Why have I not received anything in writing from the accountant and am I entitled to know who the accountant is so I can call him? It all seems so sneaky to me.Caree

You probably could use a lawyer to do some research and provide answers for you. The will is now a public record and the lawyer can get a copy. He can also get copies of the filings in the estate including accountings. Your sister can't give away money that is properly yours, but its better to have a lawyer ask for it nicely. I offer free consultations.

I would recommend that you immediately retain counsel to protect your rights as it relates to your inheritance prior to it being disposed of, if you fail to act now, there might not be anything left!

Please review my website for additional information at www.AlleghenyAttorneys.com, my office also offers flat rate pricing and free consultations. My office number is 412.731.0865.
