injured with a question

my insurance co. set up an ime and the dr. i saw said i needed surgery for my back injury i have tried to call insurance co. but do not get a call back . can i find a second opion on my own . is the insurance co responsible for a second opion

Go ahead with the Second Opinion from a Doctor of your choice.

Sounds like you have been in the WC system for more than a few months. You are entitled to have your new doctor's bill paid. If the bill and accompanying Record of treatment is submitted to the carrier, and it does not pay your new doctor, the Carrier will be in violation of the Act.

I too would be very hesitant to have surgery, as medical studies comparing patients who had invasive procedures v. those with conservative modalities indicate One may not be better off, at least in the case of microdiscectomies.
