Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

supplemental income while on worker's compensation

is there any law that forbids a person from working while receiving worker's compensation benefits? the job meets the guidlines set by my doctor, no heavy lifting etc. it is only a supplement to my comp benefits, part-time, very little money. will the compensation company lower my check amount due to this income? any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: supplemental income while on worker's compensation

If you are medically released you should accept the position. You are still entitled to 2/3 of your wage loss. For example, if your average weekly rate of pay prior to the injury was $100/week, and you work a part-time job paying $25/week, you still have a loss of $75/wk (100 - 25= 75). You then are still entitled to 2/3 of your $75 loss, or $50/wk in comp, + the $25 you earn on the job. Hope that helps.
