Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Rhode Island

real estate

My husband and I are buying a house. We spotted one we liked very much in the city of Pawtucket RI. We made an offer the seller accepted, the house went immediatly inot pending. The next day they were building a house seven feet from the property line. I withdrew my offer but they did net accept the withdrawl they told me that I had to give them 2000.00 in order to let it go. I spoke to the sellers agent about the lot next door asked if it was a buildable lot she said she felt it was too small. This woman knew that they were planning to build right on the line like they are doing. I find now if I dont want to loose $2000.00 I have to buy a house I am not happy with. If I knew this was happening I would have bid much lower I feel as though they deceived me, can yolu please help me in this matter????

Re: real estate

You need to speak with a lawyer with experience in similar cases. Feel free to give me a call, if you like, and we can chat by telephone - no charge or obligation. If we can help you, we will work with specialists that handle such cases frequently.

Whomever you meet with will want to see any documents you may have signed (such as a Purchase & Sale Agreement).
