Should I file for Bankruptcy?

I'm 25 years old and have a so-so credit report. I make around 20k a year and owe out around 10k. Iwas wondering if I should file bankruptcy and start over or stay as is?

Bankruptcy: Should I file?

If there is any way you can avoid bankruptcy you should do that. There is no credit so bad that bankruptcy won't make it worse. You might consult a credit counseling agency to assist you in budgeting and repairing your credit. If that fails, then you might consider bankruptcy as a viable option.

Bad habits, face the music

I always recommed to my clients to use the bankruptcy proceedings only as a last result. Most places now have available counselors that analize your financial situation and propose a budget, usually for free or only a small fee. Ask about it in the local chamber of commerce.Good luck!

Why not to file bankruptcy

The bankruptcy "fresh start" is mainly fiction.Bankruptcy is a last resort to keep the wolvesfrom the door when you are about to lose every-thing you own and hold dear. If you are solvent -- you can pay your bills on the moneyin your paycheck -- there is no reason to ruinyour credit for the next 10 to 20 years.

If you have ever given any thought to militaryservice, regular, reserve or National Guard, you can forget it if you file bankruptcy.
