Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in South Carolina

Best Buy Credit Card (LVNV Funding LLC)

I had a Best Buy account that I opened in 2001. I have been served papers (non jury trial) for a delinquent account. I requested from the Attorneys office paperwork showing what was due (since I thought the account was paid off didnt put but one thing on there).

The paperwork they sent me shows three things (starting in 2003), but doesnt show what it is or who purchased it. I questioned this with the Attorneys office, who said that was all the information I was going to get, that I could pay $2507, instead of $3,199.48 or he would proceed to prosecute. There is no actual proof in any of the documentation sent it is just amounts added to my account. Not even sure when it was actually added.

I am willing (and have taken out a loan) to pay the $2507, but do not want to pay it if I do not owe it. Should I go before the Judge?

You should not pay a debt if you do not owe it just because some collections attorney says too. If you want to fight it, we can fight it and make them prove the debt. You can contact me if you need more help at [email protected]
