Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in South Carolina

Check Into Cash Companys

I wrote checks to a check cashing place when it was time to pay them back I did not have the funds, I put a stop payment on the checks so a overdraft fee would not be charged to my account in turn I sent them a certified letter explaining my situation and to make payment arrangements the letter was returned now they have turned it over to a collection agency and they are asking for more then the amount of the checks and my situation is still the same what can I do.

Re: Check Into Cash Companys

The problem is that legally, these companies can sue you and attempt to enforce civil judgments against you and your property. There are some options, however. Filing a personal bankruptcy would legally eliminate the debt. If you would like to explore your options, please contact me at [email protected]
