Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

serving an underage person in error at bar

I was ticketed for serving an underage person I checked the Id but I misread the date, and the bar was very busy. I was instruted to pay the fine which I did. I have now received a notice that my drivers licence is being suspended for 3 mo. I was never informed of this when the fine was paid. What recourse or options are available.

Did you go to court to pay the fine? You should have been given that information up front, but the time for appeal is probably up now. Your best option right now is to check your status with the dmv, find out what you have to do to get it reinstated, and request a restricted license to drive to work and school, etc.

Feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.
