Legal Question in Military Law in South Carolina

Military Discharge Upgrade?

I recieved--name removed--military discharge in July 2004. It was an entry level separation. On my DD-214 it reads as an ''uncharacterised'' discharge. I was in less than 180 days. What is the probability of getting it upgraded to an honorable or general discharge? My post service record is great. I became--name removed--Firefighter/EMT. I have many more certifications. I have helpped save the lives of 3 people. If you all could give me some feed back I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Re: Military Discharge Upgrade?

An uncharacterized discharge is actually okay. You received this type of discharged because you were not in the military long enough for commander to evaluate whether your discharge should be characterized as Honorable, General or OTH. If you still would like to try to have your DD-214 changed or corrected to reflect a characterization of service as Honorable, then feel free to contact me.
