Full Interest vs. Life Estate

What is the difference between the term ''full interest'' and ''life estate'' whithin the language of a last will and testiment. Also, do these terms apply only to real estate or to all assets.

"Full interest" means "all the interest the testator owned". So, if he/she left a full interest in property and owned it outright, he conveys full interest. A "life estate" is the right of a person to property until he/she dies. Both can apply to personal property or real estate.
