Legal Question in DUI Law in South Dakota

Driver License

I have no current valid driver licese. I was last licensed in the State of Indiana. My license was surrenderd to the Indiana DMV in 1997 due to a DUI. The suspension was for 1 year. I want to apply for a SD Driver license. Where do I start? I have tried several times to contact the Indiana DMV but get NO response from them.

Re: Driver License

I am not licensed in Indiana or South Dakota, but in most instances, you would be required to follow Indiana procedures for reinstatement before South Dakota could issue a license. In many states such procedures involve paying a reinstatement fee and taking a test. That may mean a trip to Indiana is necessary.
