Four years passing without knowing that your biological father has died sounds strange. If you want to know whether his estate has been probated, contact the clerk of court in the county and state where he was living at the time of his death. That is where the court proceeding for his estate would be located if an estate has been opened for your father. If an estate has not been opened and you believe there are any significant assets in the estate to which you might be an heir, you ned to petition the court for an estate to be opened.
