martial arts studio

my colleague and i are trying to establish a martial arts school (tae kwon do to be specific) and we were wondering what the initial step would be in the establishment process as well as the business plan.

The first thing to do is determine just what sort of business entity would be best for you and your colleague; a true partnership, an LLC, or a corporation. Each have their strengths and weaknesses, but you need a written agreement as to how to handle problems or one wanting out. Each business form requires a different written agreement.

The next step is to contact the Small Business Administration for assistance in putting together a business plan.
