Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas

Will she be fired

My girlfriend works at a fast food restaraunt. The manager called up to work while she and myself were eating. She was not on the clock at the time. He was drunk at the time. One of the shift managers told her that the General Manager wanted to talk to her. The GM said that he would talk to her that following tuesday and didnt know how to put what they had to talk about. Well she was talking to a co-worker that is dating a shift manager, and she asked what could it be about? The co-worker said that the GM is planning on firing her. The shift manager and the co-worker that he is dating are best friends with the GM. What does that tell you? Isnt that Invasion Of Privacy? If so what can be done about that? Is that a law in the state of Texas? Reply back ASAP. Thank you

Your friend is an employee at will and can be fired at any time for any reason whatsoever, unless motivated by discrimination or some other recognized exception to that doctrine. While Texas does recognize some actions which are based on what might be considered "invasion of privacy," you have not articulated any basis for any conclusion that anyone's privacy was invaded here. I suggest that your friend find a new position where supervisors don't try to exercise their authority while intoxicated.
