Legal Question in Construction Law in Texas

what are my rights?

Tiles, not aligned, missing grout, grout in some areas skipped..shower tiles very unaligned. Some areas of tile have a very hollow sound. Toilet in one of the restrooms is missing caulking..it swivles, tile from room into restrooms are cut very sharp....they failed to add a sealer to protect our feet, in one of the showers they did not put a fixture above. The fossits from master bedroom tub are loose as if they forgot to put some kind of glue to keep in place, Fossits in childrens restroom is also loose. They seemed to have used the cheapest tubs, toilets, carpet...I thought they were working pretty fast, but yet being careful with how they would install things. Also when tile was being laid on the ground they were working at night, while no electricity???...but still we didn't question, because we thought they knew what they were doing, we are 1st time home buyers, and what is very disturbing to us is that we trusted our contractor with the subcontractors he hired. The contractor who built our home previously had issues and supposedly was shut down, not sure. Please advise us on what and how we can take care of this matter.

Re: what are my rights?

If this is all within the warranty period given by the builder, you can require the builder to fix the problems at no cost. If outside the warranty period, or if the builder refuses to fix the problems, you will need to get contractors in to fix it at your cost, then sue the builder if he can be found.
