Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

New vehicle contract

Hello I Live in Houston, I purchased a new vehicle about a week ago. The dealer and I reached a deal I signed a contract on these terms traded off my old truck and drove away. Two days later the dealer phoned me and stated they coudnt finance me at the rate we agreed on and said I would have to sign a new contract I immediately said the deal was off and wanted my trade back the general manager appologized and said she understood. I returned to the dealer to find my truck had been sold the dealer says theres nothing I can do. Is this true?

Re: New vehicle contract

Do you have a copy of the contract?

When was it signed? Who was the dealer?

What was the manager? What did they propose as a solution?

See the questions that Nile Copeland raised. Also contact the consumer fraud division of the state's attorney general's office here in Houston. You may be a victim of a 'bailment' or 'dehorsing' scam that some dealers pull, when the contract itself allows them to get away with it.
