Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Credit Card Debt

I was contacted almost a month ago about a debt I owed on a credit card. I recorded the man with a tape recorder telling me to give him a fake account number and the right routing number to my bank and that would hold my acount with them open. Well I recieved a call from someone else the other day saying that I committed a felony by doing this and that I would basically get in trouble for it. Then I have the man I initially talked to using two different names on the tape recorder. Could I prevail with the evidence that I have with the tape recorder?

Re: Credit Card Debt

Generally, an individual is liable for any debts that the individual legal owes. If a collection agency is using illegal tactics to obtain collection, then there is a possibility of a civil suit against the collection agency for using illegal tactics. This is well established in both federal and state statutes. If my law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]).
