Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Judgements set aside

I found in my credit history a judgement against me over 4 years ago. I have a copy of a letter from the court saying the judgment was set aside and the case was dismissed. When I went to get it removed from my credit records they said it is still considered open. Am I misunderstanding the meaning of having something set aside and case dismissed?

Re: Judgements set aside

Something doesn't sound quite right. What you might do is request a certified copy of the order setting aside the judgment (there will be a nominal fee for the certification and copying) and then send that to the credit bureau and demand that they correct their data.

Make sure you keep copies of everything, and when you write to the credit bureau, send the letter by certified mail, return receipt requested.
