Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Judgment

A law firm sent me a letter stating that a bank was suing me. Saying that they expect to obtain a judgment against me very quickly. I purchased a vehicle that they financed in 1994. I then was unemployed for a period of time in 1995. They repossed the vehicle and resold it. Yet they are still wanting me to pay them for the vehicle. What are my options in this situation? What is a judgment? How does it effect my credit? Will they be able to garnish my wages?

Re: Judgment

I would like to see the letter. Can you fax it to me [(956) 424-1640]. Depending upon when the car was repo'd will depend upon whether they can get a judgment. Threatening a debtor with a remedy that is not available violates federal and state fair debt collection practices laws.
