Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I received a phone call from a debt collector (kw associates) for an old debt of my husbands. They told me that I will be receiving written notification of the debt but they refused to provide me with an address so that I can send a certified mail written request for the verification of the debt for my own records or even to send them a letter to only contact me in writing and not to call. They said that I would need to contact the original creditor for verification (which am in the process of doing). They said they would be filing judgment and sending someone out with papers between 10 and 1 but didn't say what day. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

You can probably match the number that called you and the name of the business against an address somewhere online.

This sounds like a lot of garbage debt collectors use to get debts paid regardless of who pays them or what they have to do to get it paid. Talk to a consume law attorney in your area.
