Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I was arrested for assault in sep 08 it was a heated argument with my ex girlfriend, the next day she called the investigator and droped charges. I just found out that they sent the file to the D.A.s office and I am awaiting persecution. Now enlisting in the Army engineering Corp (all ready for BCT and AIG training) I am worried, if they do not dimiss the charges I will not be able to go forth with my military career. Is there anything legal I can do to avoid this?

You need to hire an attorney. It may be possible to work something out. It you are charged with assault and the court makes finding of family violence, you cannot possess a gun.
