Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

What I want to know is; Given the fact that my daughter-in-law's brother was convicted of molesting her, son my grandson, his nephew. He is now a registered sex offender(stemming from this case). No one in her household has had contact with the brother since the initial conviction.

He is now the # 1 suspect in a capital murder case of a little 18 month little girl, who died from injuries sustained from severe abuse.

My question, is by law does my daughter- in-law have to answer any question about her brother or the molestation of her child, and can she refuse to pertisapate in this case. Thank from a concerned mom and grandmother.
