Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

My friend is being held on a parolee violation per his parole supervisor the only evidence is a sworn statement from another person. This person has a lengthy criminal history and has been in a mental hospital three times in the past 60 days. I paid a lawyer three thousand dollars to take my case. I paid the money eighteen days ago and the lawyer has still not gone to the jail to talk to my husband, so can i get my money back or am i just stuck waiting or out another sum of money to hire another attorney.

Do you have a contract with the lawyer? Is it a nonrefundable fee? Does it provide for the time period in which the lawyer must visit? The contract rules.

The lawyer will need to visit with your husband to prepare IF he has done research on the witness and after determining that they are not going to dismiss for certain. (He could do it before but it is not required.)

If you are not happy, call the lawyer and explain why. Get an answer and then make a decision. Don't be mad or unhappy but not discuss it with the lawyer. There may be a reasonable explanation.
