Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

My husband was picked up on a probation violation in Henderson County for a warrant out of Dallas. He has been in HC for over 10 business days, around 15 total. They say no bond can be set till he gets to Dallas. This is his first violation (dirty ua) in nearly four years. How long can they hold him without legal representation? He won't get a court appointed lawyer until he gets to Dallas. They seem to be in no hurry to pick him up.

They won't hold him for more than 30 days on the Dallas warrant. If Dallas does not come get him in 30 days, he will be released. If that happens, he needs to find a lawyer in Dallas immediately to represent him and work on settling the matter.

I will tell you that it is unlikely that he has been on probation for 4 years, had only 1 dirty UA, and a warrant issued......
