Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

reopen case after guilty plea

I have a black male client that accepted a plea of 20yrs for a charge he claims he did not commit. He said he was scared because he court appointed attorney kept telling him if he took it to trial he would get two life sentences and because he was black he didn't stand a chance. Five weeks after he accepted the plea he received a letter from Texas Department of Family and Protective Services saying they found ''the report made on your family has been investigated adn there was not sufficient information to determine if the abuse/neglect did occur and we will not be providing further services''. This man's life is ruined because no one believed him. What are his options? Where can I help this man get the case reopened or apealled?

Get your "client" a lawyer. Fast. There is not much time. You obviously are not one.
