Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Two years ago my ex beat me He went to jail for 6months then got put on probation he was not allowed to talk to me due to his probation well I believed all his lies on how he's changed well last Friday he beat me I called the cop he ran I'm scared that when or if they find him they won't do anything because we talked can they do that or will he do time in prison this would be his second time for family violence on me and he did hit his dad a few years ago...so what could happen

He will be charged with a felony because it is a second family violence offense. It does not matter that you continued a relationship with him; that does NOT give him any right to touch you violently.

Whether he will get prison time depends on many factors. Most times prosecutors try to put offenders on probation so they can keep an eye on them longer, and if they make a mistake, they can revoke their probation and imprison them.

You can get a protective order that can last for up to two years, and I suggest you do it. You should also seek counseling which the prosecutor can help you with.
