Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

my aunt (my mothers sister) has power of attorney over her. she called today stating she had put my mother in a nursing home, sold her car and is now selling house. I've not been consulted or informed about any of this. as her son do I have any recourse legally?

You could petition the court to appoint you as your mom's guardian. This would terminate the power of attorney.

Suggest you explore this with a guardianship attorney. However, being a guardian is a tough job. Your aunt may be doing a a good job for your mom.
