I would like to know what papers I need to legally change my name and what I need to do to get it done quickly.

Procedures in each county will vary somewhat. You must file a petition which reflects the requirements of the statute, together with your verified affidavit. My fee for an adult name change, w/o complicating factors is $500 together with filing fees and costs. The total cost would depend upon your county of residence. TCL
