child support

How exactly is child support calculated on a $57,000 gross income for one child. I also have another child living at home from my current marriage.

Re: child support

The state has tables that are used to net resources. The basic percentage for one child is 20% of your net resources, but when figuring your child support liability on $57K, the amount you are paying for the child's health insurance and the fact you have an addition child is taken will need to be taken into consideration.

Re: child support

The state legislature has developed a basic chart for child support. The chart is based on net income and not gross income. Additionally, it takes into account other children the payor is required to support. Furthermore, the court does have the discretion to deviate from the standard chart. You should seek the assistance of a family law firm to assist you when dealing with child support issues. If my local law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]).
