Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Community Property in Texas

I recently remarried and it is a 2nd marriage for both. He owned the home I moved into upon marriage. However, we now combine income to pay for the mortgage and household expenses 50/50. Do I have any legal right/ownership of the home now?

You may not have an ownership interest, but if the money is traceable, the community property estate (of which you own half) may be entitled to be reimbursed from his separate property. Your divorce lawyer will be able to work out the details.

I would keep proof of all monies that go into the house.

I'd keep them in a safe place - not in the home where your spouse could find them and destroy them.
