Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

If I take some one to court over child custody. Does thar person have to show up in the county court that the child resides and where the court is located. If its within the same state?

If there is a court of continuing jurisdiction, normally that is where you start. Not always but usually.

Yes, it matters. You just cannot pick just any Texas county. The judge must have jurisdiction over the child to issue court orders.
