Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

How do I obtain a copy of a Child Support Order if I am uncertain as to the county it was filed? I can access non-custodial information for the Texas AOG's website but there is no information on how to obtain your order. I understand that it was filed through a county and I have searched the public record databases on these county websites and can find nothing but the paternity order (Harris County). Any idea on where to get the support order if it is not showing on the county's database? The support is being automatically withdrawn from my check.

1. Contact the Texas Bureau of Vital Statistics in Austin.

2. Go to Chris Daniel's office at the Civil Courthouse in downtown Houston and have them look for the order. You will need your information (full legal name) and mother's full legal name plus child's full legal name. Bring the paperwork that you found to assist in the search. Any legal documents will cost $1 per page for a certified copy. They do not accept personal checks - cash or credit card only.

3. Hire an attorney to assist you in your search.

Good luck!
