Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

How to sue corporation in small claims court

I am considering a lawsuit against a bank in the small claims court. I got the information package from the justice of the peace. However, I am at a loss on determining the agent for service of this company that is based in California. I did a search in the Secretary Of State of Texas web site, but the company did not come up. The company does have a branch in Dallas. Does this mean this cannot be done in the small claims court?

Try calling the Corporations division (512-463-5555) and ask for the bank's registered agent in Texas. They should have one. If not, call the local branch and they will have one on file.
