Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

over time pay

My employer asks that I work over time and then marks the time off of my time card claiming they never asked that i work overtime. They have also tried to reduce my pay for mistakes made by me during production. The mistakes were not made intentionally. I have requested that my employer approve any overtime in writing. They refuse to provide written approval and when I refuse to work ''free'' overtime they always threaten to terminate my employment. My annual salary w/o OT is $20,800.00. Is this legal?

Re: over time pay

No, that is not legal. If what you say is correct, your employer is violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.
